About Us
The Great Barrier Reef International Marine College (IMC) is located in Cairns, Australia. It is a Queensland Government owned entity that is managed by a seven-member volunteer Business Management Group appointed by the State Government.
The IMC manages the buildings and facilities and invites high quality training organisations to offer both accredited and non-accredited courses at the facility in Portsmith, Cairns.
The Australian Marine Training Network – Cairns (AMTN-C) acts as an advisory body to the Business Management Group.
Business Management Group
The current members include leaders in the marine industry encompassing coastal shipping, shipbuilding and repair, marine tourism and international yachting. It also includes leaders in the education field.
Staff
The IMC Portsmith facility is headed by a General Manager who is supported by an Administration and Finance Officer and Simulator Facilities Manager.
