This course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to respond effectively as a key member of the on board command fire fighting team. You will learn to manage shipboard fire prevention, coordinate tactical fire fighting, and use and maintain fire fighting and fire detection equipment carried on merchant vessels.

Manage firefighting and fire prevention activities on board a vessel
Students must have obtained an AMSA-approved Basic Fire Fighting certificate or an overseas Advanced Fire Fighting Certificate before attending the Advanced Fire course (please provide a copy of your Basic Fire Certificate to GBRIMC before course commencement).
AMSA requires that you have a four month breakbetween completing the Basic Fire course and attending the Advanced Fire course. (Contact AMSA for clarification if required on 9430 2100.)
Assessment will include written tests and practical demonstration of skills.
Advanced Fire (AMSA approved) meeting the requirements of STCW Reg VI/3 and Code Section A-VI/3, Table A-VI/3.
