Certificate of Competency (CoC) Continued Competence Refresher Training

Course Overview

This course covers the relevant refresher competencies from the STCW short courses, Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other an Fast Rescue Boats (CPSC) and Advanced Fire Fighting.

Covers relevant components of:

• Personal Survival Techniques – STCW Table A-VI/1-1.
• Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting – STCW Table A-VI/1-2.
• Certificate of Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than Fast Rescue Boats – STCW Table A-VI/2-1.
• Advanced Fire Fighting – STCW Table VI/3.

Note: All continued competence refresher courses are valid for up to 5 years and may be used once for revalidation purposes.

Selection criteria

Minimum age requirement is 16 years.
Hold a Current Certificate of Competency (Master/Deck/Engineering officers)

Delivery Method

Assessment procedures

Assessment will include written tests and practical demonstration of skills.

Resources required

You will need to bring the following:

• Evidence of your Certificate of Competency
• Towel and swimmers 
• Spare change of under garments
• Thick work socks (no anklet socks)
• Sunhat
• Water bottle
• Lunch and snacks as you require
• Wear comfortable clothes and closed in footwear
