The CoST refresher training course is designed to meet the mandatory Sea Survival, Basic Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting continued competency requirements for current seafarers with qualifying sea service (3 months within the past 6 months OR 12 months within the past 5 years).

Minimum age requirement is 16 years.

On successful completion of the CoST Continued Competence Refresher, having reached a satisfactory level in demonstrated practical competence, a document will be issued certifying that the holder has met the requirements for the revalidation of Certificate of Safety training as specified by the STCW Convention and Code, as per the Manila 2010 amendments.
